Nan has been an activist since she was in junior high school, and a media organizer since college. She is especially committed to eliminating racism in all its forms, promoting progressive media and cultural expression, and supporting women's participation in using technology. Her involvement in political and cultural organizations mirror these interests as well as her strong Jewish identity and its tradition of working for social justice.
